  1. The West Wing Before and After – A Review of the Show and Cast The West Wing is an American drama television series with a political twist. It stars Martin Sheen as President Josiah Bartlet and Rob Lowe as Assistant to President Josh Lyman. The show was created by Aaron Sorkin, a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer of screenplays such as A Few Good Men and The Social Network, who served as the show’s head writer and executive producer. John Wells Productions produced the West Wing in association with Warner Bros. Television. From September 22, 1999, to May 16, 2006, the show ran on the NBC channel.
