  1. What To Look For In A Rental Home? It is important to carefully scrutinize every nook and corner of a rental home before you finalize it. You need to clear all your doubts and ask questions to the landlord before you sign the lease agreement. SAFETY The rental property must be completely safe to reside in. Check all the doors, window locks, fire alarm systems and anti-theft systems as well. All the wires should be hidden from view and appliances must function well. CLEANLINESS Check out the garden, bathroom, ceilings etc. to look for the standard of cleanliness. If you feel hygiene is not up to the mark, you can bring it to the notice of the real estate agent or landlord. STORAGE SPACE Depending on the amount of things you need to store, you can decide how much space is enough for you. There should be sufficient internal and external storage in a rental property for all your important stuff. AIR CONDITIONING The air conditioning system in the rental property must function effectively to keep the interior environment at a comfortable temperature. There can be a cooling system or a heating system depending on the place where you reside. MEASURE THE SPACE If you have bulky furniture items which might require a larger space, it is best to measure all the rooms in a rental property. Exact measurements will help you decide if your furniture items will actually fit in or not. OTHER FEATURES Important features that you need to look for are: washer/dryer, refrigerator, cooktop etc. In case these are being provided by the landlord, they should function properly.
