Trigger points are tight “knots” or taut bands within muscles that can be very sensitive to pressure. These can arise from injuries or repetitive stress, causing muscles to stay contracted and sometimes generating referred pain elsewhere in the body.

  2. Dry-Needling vs Trigger-Point Injections Dry-Needling uses small monofilament needles (no medication) to provoke a twitch response, releasing the contracted muscle band. Trigger-Point Injections add a local anesthetic (a small amount) into the muscle to numb while also inducing the twitch response to release the trigger point. Although the terms “needling” or “injection” may sound intimidating, the actual skin piercing is usually not very painful. After treatment, mild muscle soreness is common (like after a workout), lasting a day or two. Session Duration & Pricing Sessions last between 30 to 60 minutes.
