  2. ONLINE DONATION PLATFORM • You can change the life of a child when you donate for education through our online donation platform to gift education in India. Every penny you donate for education of a child is when you gift education in India. • Pooja’s interest in education started when she first started attending remedial education centre run by World Vision India in Delhi. Now aged 19 years, Pooja recalls how it started for her, “I was first introduced to books when I attended a learning centre run by World Vision India which was very exciting and new for me. Later they helped me enrol in a government school. Initially it was very challenging to go to school as my parents were not supportive and we were all engaged in rag picking to earn a living. But with constant support and counselling from World Vision India, things started changing and now we are much aware of many things including the importance of education.” • Pooja is now the only one, among eight of her siblings, who is studying. Her parents have agreed to stop sending her for rag picking as long as she pursues education. That is why your help to gift education in India through World Vision India’s online donation platform will make a difference for children like Pooja. Donate for education.

  3. DONATE FOR EDUCATION • She was first one to be enrolled in a government school near her place in Shadipur area but after the demolition, her family had to shift to the transit camp, which posed a challenge for her to continue going to school because of the distance. However, Pooja was determined to continue and managed to complete eighth standard. When she was in the ninth standard, she could not attend regularly due to an illness and the long distance commuting challenge. Finally, she had to drop out of school. • Education is the key to many opportunities and the door to success. Many children in India do not have access to quality education or drop out of schools owing to distances and financial crisis at homes. Let’s come together to donate for education and gift education in India through World Vision India’s online donation platform hopetoshine.com.

  4. GIFT EDUCATION IN INDIA • In 2020, she enrolled in 10th standard with the help of World Vision India’s volunteer through the National Institute of Open Schooling. However, due to the COVID pandemic and impending lockdowns, she could not continue her study and in 2021, she was re-admitted in the tenth standard. This time around, with the constant support of World Vision India’s volunteer, Pooja continued to come regularly to the tuition centre run by the NGO and studied through online. “My friends and I, we came to the tuition centreregularlyand used madam Gopi’s mobile to connect with the tuition teacher and study online. That is how we prepared for the 10th class exam during the COVID lockdown. We did not have mobiles, so it was difficult to study at home,” said Pooja. • Children like Pooja can go back to school and fulfil their dreams when you donate for education through our online donation platform and gift education in India.

  5. “I use to go for rag picking almost every day and even begging in the street. Now I am happy that I am getting a chance to study and later try to get a decent job. I want to motivate other children also to study and not give up hope,” exclaimed a confident Pooja. When you gift education in India and donate for education through our online donation platform, you bring a smile on a child’s face.
