2. MAKE IT A Magical Christmas Our newly refurbished hotel is the perfect setting for your festivities. Whether you’re hosting a glamorous get-together or hunkering down in a fluffy robe and doing absolutely nothing for a night or two, you’re assured of a welcome as warm as the hot toddies. This Christmas, head for your place in the country where the halls are decked, the tree is twinkling, and the cocktails are a-pouring.

Festive afternoon tea You’ll love our Christmassy take on the traditional afternoon tea, from the turkey and stuffing brioche bun or cherry scone with clementine curd to the chocolate yule log and homemade stollen. All washed down with a glass of spicy mulled wine or bubbles. With crackers included, of course. Available 1st – 23rd December 2022, 12 noon – 4pm £42 per adult, £21 per child (under 12) Festive lunch & dinner Our three-course Christmas feast comes with all the trimmings and some gourmet flourishes. You can choose from dishes such as whisky-cured salmon or a pressing of confit duck to start, followed by traditional stuffed turkey or our Baron Bigod and potato pithivier (if you’re a bit turkey’ed out). To finish, there’s Horwood House Christmas pudding or a Chocolate Delice. 4. Christmas parties Tis the season for a jolly good knees-up, we say. Our private Christmas party package includes room hire, a drink on arrival, a three-course menu from our Executive Chef featuring dishes such as whisky-cured salmon, stuffed turkey breast wrapped in Serrano ham and vanilla & maple set cream. To toast the season, there’s a half a bottle of wine per person and the meal is rounded off with tea and coffee and a mince pie. 5. Christmas day lunch Give yourself the best Christmas present of all and leave lunch to us. Our indulgent four course Christmas Day menu in the atmospheric 1911 Restaurant kicks off with a crisp glass of Prosecco before tucking into a butternut squash velouté and mac ‘n’ cheese croquette. There’s a traditional turkey roast with all the trimmings from maple roasted parsnips to pigs in blankets and maple glazed vegetables, or our Malt glazed celeriac with black garlic and compressed apple as an alternative that’s not just for vegetarians! For dessert there is Christmas pudding with brandy sauce and blueberry compote, chocolate crème brulée and coconut cheesecake. Crackers and novelty gifts are included, and Father Christmas will also be making an appearance… Remember to pre-order your favourite wine. Serving from 12 noon, it’s a relaxed affair and a chance to graze at your own pace as you enjoy a glass of Buck’s Fizz or something non-alcoholic if your detox has already started. 6. Christmas escapes Picture this… a cosy window seat, a warm fluffy robe, a delicious hot chocolate and views across lawns kissed with frost or maybe even a sprinkling of snow. We can’t guarantee the white stuff, but we can certainly provide the rest with our Christmas escapes. Your suite or room comes with the use of the swimming pool, steam room and sauna. And if you’re feeling active, there is the well-equipped gym or welly-clad stroll around our beautiful grounds. Various room types are available – one-night stays start from £109 in a stylish classic bedroom or why not upgrade to a deluxe or executive? For the ultimate getaway our Manor suites are available from £499 per suite, per night bed and breakfast. 7. New Year’s Eve Welcome in 2023 in timeless style with our glamorous jazz dinner at the hotel’s grand 1911 Restaurant. A spectacular tower of seafood is the centrepiece of a lavish buffet that also features the likes of confit duck pastilles, spinach & feta filo and roast rib of beef with bearnaise and peppercorn.
