  2. Heriberto Sedeno M.D. was one of over 14,000 unaccompanied Cuban children who arrived without their parents to the U.S. between 1960 and 1962 under the auspices of the Pedro Pan Program. This program functioned under the umbrella of the Cuban Refugee Program created by a Presidential Executive Order and administered by the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare (“HEW”). .

  3. Dr. Sedeno was assigned to Camp Matecumbe, a former Boys Scouts camp in the outskirts of Miami, Florida. This camp during the early 1960s was transformed into a placement and education center for more than 400 Cuban children from 14 to 17 years old. Dr. Sedeno in June 1963 graduated from the camp’s High School. His class was the only graduating class from this school ran by the Christian Brothers. The school closed in 1963 and the camp in 1964.   4. Dr. Sedeno completed his undergraduate studies from the University of St. Thomas, Houston, Texas, with a major in Biology in 1969. He enrolled at the University of Zaragoza School of Medicine, Spain and obtained his M.D. degree in 1975. Possessing an excellent academic background, he has worked with many recognized institutes in different capacities during his career. He earned a distinguished reputation amongst his medical peers for providing excellent medical care, in particular to the Hispanic community in the Houston area. Undergraduate and Graduate Education

  5. Dr. Sedeno obtained the following certifications: ECFMG (1976), Texas License in Medicine and Surgery (1977), Diplomate American Board of Family Practice (1979). Certifications

  6. From 1979 to 1985 Dr. Sedeno was in solo practice associated with Alief General Hospital and Rosewood General Hospital in Houston. In 1985, he joined West Houston Family Practice Associates, P.A. and served as its Principal until 1995. In January 1996, he was elected to be the President of West Houston Family Healthcare Associates, Houston, Texas. He ran his own private practice in Houston for 17 years during which he supervised two bilingual family physicians. In 2007, he negotiated the sale of his practice and transitioned previous patients to the new practice. Throughout his career, he has also been affiliated with hospitals, such as West Houston Medical Center serving as a member of the Credential Committee, Utilization Management Committee, and Medical Executive Committee. He was also Chief of the Family Practice Department in 1989. He was a staff physician at Memorial Southwest Hospital from 1980 to 2007. Various Appointments
