  1. 5 Stages That Couples Face In A Relationship Usually, there are a total of 5 stages in a relationship that couples go through. If the relationship is solid and long-lasting, it will go through all five stages, including falling in love, settling down, disillusionment, stability, and commitment. Some people may think of fairy tale romance to be true. However, that’s not true. Getting in a relationship comes with its ups and downs. Let’s get down to the five stages in detail. 1. Romance and Attraction: Every couple would go through the ‘falling in love phase. It’s the beginning stage where couples get to know each other. In this phase, partners would look at each other, thinking that the other is flawless. It may last from some months to two years where partners only notice each others’ similarities. They can’t stay distant from one another and often avoid conflict. 2. Settling In: The stage slowly takes place after the first stage. It usually lasts for around six months where partners decide whether they would stay together or not. In this stage, either the partners

  2. accept their flaws and progress to the next phase or end the relationship thinking it was a mistake. 3. Disillusionment: In this phase, partners have to work out their differences. It is at this stage where they start noticing each other’s differences and flaws. Communicating healthily in this stage and progressing positively would lead to the next step in a relationship. It usually lasts a year and can include conflicts among partners. Strong communication and trust can help couples to cross this stage. 4. Stability: If the couple passes through the unstable phase of ‘disillusionment,’ they will move on to the stability phase. Here, everything goes smoothly, and this phase is full of enjoyment and rest. In this stage, couples feel connected, go through sacred sexuality, or may even miss the first stage. 5. Commitment: This is the last stage; however, only a few couples make it to this stage. This stage means that couples have made it through the ups and downs together and are a team now. If they are dating, then they would decide to marry now and live together. In this stage, couples become mature enough to understand each other, accept the flaws, and last forever. Conclusion: Knowing about the different stages of a relationship would help you understand how you feel about the relationship you are in and your partner. It allows you to stay through the ups and downs with your partner if they are the right one. As you know, these stages are likely to come; you will be able to prepare for it and not leave your partner in the heat of the moment of some stages. Source URL: https://bit.ly/2ZgY3YC
