Radiology & Medical Imaging
Introduction • Radiology and medical imaging is a discipline of medicine that uses imaging to identify and treat diseases that occur inside the body. Radiology uses a wide range of imaging techniques to diagnose and treat diseases. • The technique and practise of making visual representations of the interior of a body for clinical examination and medical intervention is referred to as medical imaging.
In medical diagnostics, Radiology & Medical Imaging kuwait go hand in hand. Radiology is a discipline of medicine that focuses on the diagnosis & treatment of disease through the use of radiant energy. Radiologists are specialists who diagnose and treat patients using imaging technology. • Medical imaging is a diagnostic imaging technique used by radiologists. MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and ultrasound, for example, do not employ radiation in their medical imaging methods.
Types • Computerized tomography (CT) scan • Magnetic resonance imaging • Ultrasound
1. CT Scan • This uses X-ray equipment to photograph your entire body from all angles. • A CT scan gives three-dimensional, highly comprehensive information that can be used for diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring. Bone and muscle abnormalities, lumps, cancers, traumas, and internal bleeding can all be detected using a CT scan.
2. Magnetic resonance imaging • Magnetic resonance imaging (MR imaging) is a type of imaging that uses radio waves. An MRI uses a big, strong magnet and radiofrequency pulses to create 3D images of organs and tissues inside your body. • Tumors, injuries, lesions, and infections can all be detected using an MRI scan. MRI employs no radiation, which is an appealing feature of this form of medical imaging equipment.
3. Ultrasound • As the radiographer, or technician, moves the ultrasonic probe over the area of the body in question, this technology displays live, real-time photographs on a computer screen. • Ultrasound, like MRI, doesn't use radiation, which is why it's so popular among pregnant women who want to see their kid in the womb.
Conclusion • The physician team at Independent Imaging has been providing diagnostic imaging to patients throughout Kuwait. • The fellowship-trained radiologists and radiology technicians are experts at providing the information your doctor needs to make an accurate diagnosis.
