  1. Foreskin Problems - Is Circumcision Really Necessary? As a result of recent scientific research, circumcision of male infants is considered to have little benefit on the health side. In Western countries, however, circumcision remains a common practice for mothers to make for their sons, and circumcision is almost a matter of rote when a boy is born. Although religious traditions often motivate this decision, there are also popular misconceptions prevalent which incorrectly suggest an intact foreskin means poor hygiene, infection, and other penis problems. Consequently, even in adults, foreskin issues are frequently addressed through circumcision. There is, however, an estimated 90% of circumcisions that are unnecessary, as stated by Dr Sudarshan Kanti Baishya. Men with an intact foreskin may benefit from the benefits of an uncircumcised penis by using penis vitamins and minerals and reducing the risk of problems and avoiding penis surgery. The anatomy of the foreskin The glans and foreskin of the penis develop together as a single structure in male infants; however, they naturally separate during childhood. Foreskin retracting fully may take up to 17 years, and forcefully pulling it back can result in injury. Generally, once the foreskin has fully retracted, it is connected to the underside of the glans by a thin band of skin called the frenulum, which functions similarly to the tongue's connective tissue. Common foreskin issues A number of penile problems are associated with an intact foreskin. In most cases, these can be dealt with through non-invasive treatments. Balanatis - In addition to circumcised men, those with intact foreskin are more likely to develop this condition. Symptoms include itching, rash, inflammation and/or redness, along with burning at the time of urination. Phimosis - Typically, a doctor who is unaware of alternative treatment options recommends circumcision when a fully grown male's foreskin cannot be retracted over the glans or is painful to do so. Paraphimosis - Paraphimosis is a form of paraphimosis caused by a tight foreskin, similar to phimosis. Paraphimosis is considered to be an emergency condition because it may restrict circulation to the head of the penis. It is generally treated as a medical emergency because the foreskin has retracted over the head but cannot return to its original position.

  2. Circumcision alternatives If a man is experiencing foreskin problems, circumcision can often be avoided. Proper hygiene is the first step toward a healthy foreskin. In order to prevent problems such as penis infections, it is important to gently retract the foreskin and wash it with water and a mild cleanser (soaps should be avoided as they tend to dry the skin). When the foreskin is tight and does not retract easily, gentle manual stretching is recommended. As part of this process, you should ererect. Begin by pulling the foreskin outwards as much as possible, away from your body, and then return it to its original position. Having practiced enough so the glans is visible, you can roll the foreskin back and forth with the thumb and forefinger over the glans. Once the skin becomes pliable, it should eventually be able to pull the foreskin back over the head. A high level of sensitivity is expected at the beginning; however, it is possible to develop a normal level of sensitivity by gently handling the head under water until it has become accustomed to manual stimulation. As part of this process, it is important to moisturize the glans and foreskin - the use of a specialized penis health formula (Man1 Man Oil is highly recommended) can help maintain the health and elasticity of the penis skin by providing it with essential vitamins and minerals.
