  1. Finding Halal Fish and Seafood Subway is a well monitored organization and so it's no surprise that Halal Fish is available for purchase at their stores. Most Halal SUB Subway stores have several signs prominently displaying that they sell Halal food. Is Halal Fish on the menu? According to Islamic law, all meat served to Muslim must be Halal. Is Halal Fish on the menu? The halal symbol in the logo is of an Arabic letter "H", which when translated means "lawful" or "legal."

  2. Finding Halal Fish and Seafood If we look at the actual menu, we can see that the only item that is Halal Fish, which is a white, sea fish from the Black Sea. There are no chicken selections, no turkey selections, no kosher selections, no ham choices, and no vegetarian selections whatsoever! This was first brought to my attention when I was perusing the various international dishes that were offered that day. The "five guys" that they use to describe Jewish menus didn't even have these items available.

  3. Finding Halal Fish and Seafood Halal is not a religious term, but has become one to describe specific laws or rules in regard to food. These laws began to shape the way that Muslims dealt with non-halal foods. It is possible that the original Halal fast food fish was prepared with chicken halal in mind, but for certain reasons this became impractical, and so the fish became Halal only after it became accepted as such by mainstream Islam. For example, the "five guys" who are seen in most Subway ads don't actually feature Jewish people as customers. This all began to change for the better when kosher standards started to be more clearly defined.

  4. Finding Halal Fish and Seafood Kosher chicken meat is a little bit different from traditional meat that you would find in a "traditional" American burger, but both are similar enough to be of interest to someone like me who doesn't really care for meat as much as some do. In any event, the new definition for Kosher within the halal market allowed for a much wider variety of selections than what we had been accustomed to seeing. Now you can get KFC chicken halal, regular pork halal, Jewish deli meat, and even beef at places like McDonald's. While I'm sure that most people who eat regular beef will find something to like at either of these places, I don't know that I'll be adding any more to my daily menu.

  5. Finding Halal Fish and Seafood Many restaurants have added halal items to their menus, and if you're looking for a place that offers them, you might be a bit limited by your local area. Many have expanded their selections beyond what was available in the "real" halal market to include selections that are more generic, but still based on halal regulations. However, there are some excellent places in my community that offer a wide variety of chicken meat and other delicacies that I wouldn't have found otherwise.

  6. Finding Halal Fish and Seafood The next time you're looking for a great restaurant to check out that offering halal food, make sure that it is located inside of a mall that has a decent sized mall. This way you can find a place close enough to walk to if you're hungry, without having to drive too far. That being said, I'm not sure that the food business is going to continue to grow like it has been. We are experiencing an increase due to the growing Muslim population in the US, but halal cuisine is probably just going to become more mainstream.
