  1. Here’s Why it is Important to Use Fog Lights on Your Car Some models of the Toyota Tundra did not come with fog lights however, this does not mean you should manage without them. It is a good idea to install Tundra fog lights to increase your safety while driving under foggy and dimly lit conditions. Without them, you risk getting in hazardous situations which could become serious or fatal. Besides increasing your visibility in heavy fog, the lights can help you see well while driving in the rain and other inclement weather conditions. A must have for your Tundra! Fog lights are essential additions to the Toyota Tundra. Unlike regular headlights, their use is more specific for low-visibility conditions. In addition to your headlights, the front fog lights will help you see with its wider beam of light. Tundra fog lights are installed below the headlight assembly and meant to generate a bar-shaped wide beam, with a sharp cutoff above, so they won’t reflect off of the fog. How is it installed? Fog lamps are typically mounted low at around 12 to 30 inches above the surface of the road, and they must be angled downward for proper illumination below the fog. Rear fog lights can also be installed and this time, they can provide red-colored light like brake lights. This time, they help other drivers see your car under low visibility conditions. Sometimes, they can be placed in the middle of your rear bumper cover, but they can also take the place of one of the reverse lights. They keep you safe Although Tundra fog lights are considered auxiliary lights and are not mandatory, they should still be considered for your vehicle if you often drive in areas where visibility tends to be low when it is foggy or raining. If you take your Tundra for off-roading in dusty roads, fog lights can also be helpful in increasing visibility. Likewise, they can be helpful during dust storms, which tend to occur in certain states like New Mexico and Arizona. While it is not recommended to drive during a dust storm, you could rely on the fog lights if you need to move your vehicle to safety, and then wait for it to pass. Before installing Tundra fog lights, remember check on local road rules on their use. For instance, there is a law in Florida that does not allow using auxiliary lights and fog lights when there are other cars on the road, except when it is foggy!
