As the world is passing through a tough time, he is determined to sell one of his priceless collections of MF Hussain paintings to contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s relentless fight against Coronavirus. The number of COVID- 19 patients in India is increasing day-by-day. Till now, no specific treatment is available for stopping the onslaught of the virus, yet virologists are trying their level best to find a remedy for this highly contagious and fatal virus. Medical fraternity needs more medicines, more facilities, and more lifesaving equipment to treat the patients. It means more money to erect a better and stronger infrastructure countrywide for combating COVID-19. Guru Swarup Srivastava’s contribution will definitely add momentum in the fight against Coronavirus. Guru Swarup Srivastava contributes to every social cause This is not the first time that Guru Swarup Srivastava is selling his most favourite collection for a social cause. Before that, in 2005, he contributed one MF Hussain painting for donating a hefty amount to the Cancer Association. It became a newspaper story as great Bollywood actor Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, the then Brand Ambassador of the Cancer Society presented the painting to the association. Besides, helping the backward section of our society, contribution to women empowerment, and for many other social causes, Guru Swarup Srivastava always comes forward. Guru Swarup Srivastava can relinquish anything for social welfare Guru Swarup Srivastava loves to introduce himself as a social worker. He is a renowned industrialist and painting collector, but social works are his priority. Almost twenty years ago he bought 100 pieces of classic paintings of MF Hussain for 100 crores. That means each piece of painting cost him 1 crore at that time. Naturally, the value of each piece of painting is now much higher.
