WHAT IS IELTS ? • IELTS- International English Language Testing System is an English Language proficiency test taken by working professionals and students to study in countries where the medium of instruction is English. • IELTS is a widely taken proficiency test managed by three bodies British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. There are 4 sections of the IELTS test, based on which a student's understanding of a language is assessed. • IELTS is mandatory for studying in Australia and is accepted by universities in the UK, US, Canada and New Zealand. • There are two types of IELTS Tests- IELTS Academic and IELTS General. in which the reading and writing sections vary. IELTS Academic is for working professionals and students to pursue higher education at universities abroad. IELTS General is for people looking to migrate to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or the UK or students planning to study in high school or a vocational training program. No matter which IELTS test you take, it is recognized internationally and is valid for two years

  4. What is the Scoring Scale for IELTS? • IELTS follows a grading system using scores from 1-9 to evaluate your performances. The cumulative score of listening, reading, writing and speaking offers an overall band score 1) Listening score reported on a 0-9 band scale, with 0.5 band increment 2) Reading score reported on a 0-9 band scale, with 0.5 band increment 3) Speaking score reported on a 0-9 band scale, with 0.5 band increment 4) Writing score reported on a 0-9 band scale, with 0.5 band increment
