  1. How to Distinguish the Best Charitable Organizations

  2. With so much going on in the world, many Americans give to charity simply out of the desire to do anything they can to help. Fortunately, there are literally thousands of charitable organizations doing good work around the world; you can help them continue to do this work by supporting them with one-time and ongoing financial donations. But it’s important to do your research, so you can be assured that the charity you want to give to spends its money responsibly.

  3. Find the best charity organizations using the following tips: The best charity organizations spend more than 75% of the donations on various programs that directly give to the cause. Look for charitable institutions that do this, rather than spending the majority of their money on administrative costs. Before you give your time and money to any charity, you should first look at the mission statement of the organization to be sure it is in alignment with your beliefs. Any reputable charity should have a complete list of the board of directors, and the audited financial statement of the organization, on its website. If charitable institutions solicit to you on the phone, do not give them your credit card information. This is a red flag that should raise your antennae right away. Tell the person you will research the charity first, and then give through the website if you feel compelled to.

  4. Remember, there are numerous charity watchdog groups out there designed to help you find the best charity organizations. A few of the most trusted are: CharityNavigator.org Better Business Bureau’s National Charity Report Index Guidestar Consult these websites before giving to any charitable institutions. The best charity organizations will not mind you doing your research before giving to their cause. Click Here to know more about best charity organizations.
