  1. How Should You Prepare For the Annapurna Base Camp Trek? Annapurna base camp trek is one of the most popular treks in the world but it’s challenging. And it’s because Mount Annapurna is the world’s 10th highest mountain with a height of 8091 meters. But, this doesn’t mean you won’t even try trekking in the Annapurna base region. The success of the Annapurna base camp trek depends on how you prepare for the same. If you are properly prepared for trekking, you will handle the problems easily and complete your journey smoothly. In this post, we will discuss the tips to prepare for the Annapurna base camp trek. Become the fittest version of yourself- To complete the trek with ease, you should stay fit or start a fitness regime. Fitness doesn’t mean just your body; your mind should be fit as well. If your body is ready but not your mind, then the trekking will never be complete. Firstly, you should determine the time you have for preparation. You should define your fitness schedule accordingly. The best thing is to combine cardio training with walking exercise. You should walk around 15 kilometers per day on an unpaved surface to get the trek feeling. For better results, you should carry a backpack when going for a walk. Apply for a visa beforehand-Nepal offers visas on arrival to citizens from different countries. Once you will land, the immigration officer will grant you a visa after checking all your details. But unfortunately, the visa on arrival option will take a lot of time. You might even not receive the visa at the airport due to some problem. To avoid such problems and interruptions to your plan, you should get a visa before traveling. You should complete all the formalities in advance. You should check online and know the visa and passport requirements for the Annapurna base camp trek. Usually, there isn’t anything specific, but still, you should check the details. Hire a guide for your trekking–It’s your personal choice. If you are comfortable trekking alone without any guide, you can do that. But, many trekkers prefer hiring a guide for their safety. A guide knows the trails and is aware of the concerning altitude sickness. Also, the guide knows the local economy of the country, which will help you in easy transactions. For a solo female trekker, hiring a guide for the Annapurna base camp trek is the safest option. One important piece of advice, you should hire a guide in advance because last-minute deals are often costly. You will find different options to book a guide in Nepal. Things to bring for the trekking-The climate in the Annapurna base is cold throughout the year, only the intensity is different. Also, the rooms available for sleeping aren’t warm. So, a warm sleeping bag and warm clothes should definitely be on your packing list. Other than this, you should carry a power bank, drinking bottles, snacks and teabags, sunglasses and sunscreen, headlight, first-aid kit, earplugs, and lightweight towel. With this preparation list, we are sure your Annapurna base camp trek will be successful.
