  1. Establishing New Healthy Habits With The 21/90 Rule Working toward a goal takes time and dedication. If you want it bad enough, you’ll put in the time and effort needed. When it comes to fitness and nutritional goals, the process is the same as any other professional or personal goal. You cannot wake up one day and be an elite marathon runner or champion bodybuilder anymore than you can wake up and be the CEO of a successful tech company. These things take time, planning, patience, and commitment among other attributes. Within those goals, are smaller micro goals that help you along the way. Figuring out what those goals are is the first step. Then you have to plan to achieve them. By using the 21/90 rule, you can accomplish your smaller goals on your way to achieving your larger goals. Creating a habit It takes 21 days to create a habit. Does that mean you have to do the same thing for 21 days? Possibly, but not necessarily. Over those 21 days, it may mean doing something every other day or some other interval. Working out for 21 days straight is an unrealistic goal. But working out every other day or four days per week is more realistic for someone. If you can establish a routine over the three week period, you’ve likely created a healthy, sustainable habit.

  2. Creating a lifestyle If you can sustain something for 90 days, you’ve created a lifestyle change. During the three month span, you’ve managed to sustain regular activity related to your goal. Perhaps eating more nutritionally dense food and exercising regularly was the goal. You hired a personal trainer and nutritionist NYC, to help you on the journey, and now at the end of the third month, you no longer need any guidance to keep it going. You’ve incorporated the change into your lifestyle. Whether you are working alone or with a personal trainer Long Island City, be sure to define your goals before setting down a path. Make sure they are achievable and meaningful to you. Then decide where you’ll be in 21 days and 90 days.
