  • The MIRT is to:

    • Provide immediate on-scene maritime advice and agency liaison to Incident Commanders responding to fires in the marine environment

    • Promote marine fire fighting team-building efforts in the Port of Hampton Roads through training and drills

  • MIRT sent both firefighters and HAZMAT team from VA Beach

  • Worked w/ Atlantic Strike Team (AST) on plan for barge/cargo assessment

  • VA Beach HAZMAT team acted as back-up for AST personnel
