  1. Tips Your Puppy Trainer in Las Vegas May Give You to Help Your Dog Through the Holidays As the temperatures decrease and leaves are falling off of the trees, the approach of the holiday season is palpable. What may not be as palpable is your plan for your dog’s wellbeing during the busy holiday season. With numerous family parties and out-of-town guests in your future, the high demands of the season can be a recipe for a grumpy, misbehaving canine. Here are some ways to make the holiday season easier for your pup: Ease Him Into Socializing A tip that you’ll often hear from the best Las Vegas dog trainer is to introduce your dog to new people gradually. Now is not the time to take your dog to places where he or she will meet multiple new people at once. If you’re expecting to host guests from out of town for the holidays, try to limit the people in your home to your household and your guests until your pooch has time to adjust and get used to the new people in your home. Quite often, a little extra time will work wonders for your dog. Give Him Space When your dog is going through something new for him or her, it’s always a great idea to let your dog have some space. If your dog has a dedicated bed or crate, make sure that this area is not disturbed by holiday guests or activities. As much as possible, try to leave your dog alone when he or she retreats to the bed or the crate. Your dog’s area feels like a haven for him or her. If you are hosting guests who are prone to follow your dog (i.e., little children), try to encourage them to give your dog the space he or she needs now. Preserve Your Dog’s Routine While the holiday season will inevitably throw your schedule for a loop, it will be important to try and keep your dog’s routine as normal as possible through the holidays. If you typically take your dog for a daily walk, do everything you can to make that happen. Staying consistent with your dog’s routine helps him or her to see the holiday season as a pleasant time and not a dramatic life change. This can add up to more positive behavior from your dog during the holidays.
