  1. August 16, 2017 Visit Camping Stores and Make Sure to Have These Items On Your Backpack Camping gives you the freedom to go on a day trip and ease up the monotony of daily life. It can easily turn into a nightmare, though, if you’re ill-equipped for the upcoming adventure. That’s why your backpack must have all the essentials of a great camping trip. These items are easy to get from any camping stores in Perth. They are even essential for your survival, if you find yourself stuck out in the Western Australian Bush. Don't leave home without them! A Multi Tool Is Better than a Knife Knives are great, but a good multi tool saves so much space and weighs much less. Most models have a knife, a fork and a spoon. They are also fitted out with a can and bottle opener, a Page | 1

The knife is essential if you are in a survival situation and you need to quickly put together a gauze, a splint or a bandage. Don't Sit in the Dirt – Get a Folding Chair As you'll probably rest while on your day trip at various intervals, you'll be comfortably well off with a lightweight folding chair. Many backpacks have a convenient side pocket where you can store your folded up chair. Having a folding chair will be very useful so that you don't sit on the ground where your clothes can be invaded by ants, termites and other pesky insects. Six-Legged Elephant Repellent Speaking of insects, the flies in the Bush tend to be as large as elephants! Instead of mucking about with stinky plant extracts or skin-destroying chemicals, why not get a mosquito head net? It's way more effective than the iconic Aussie Akubra with the corks and if you're wearing light coloured, long-sleeved clothing, insects can pretty much forget about making a meal of you. Additionally, your visibility is completely unaffected. To top it off, you will have plenty of ventilation on your face and it’s unlikely you’ll feel hot and humid. Taking Plenty of Water You'll need plenty of water while hiking in the Western Australian Bush, so you had best stock up on a couple of water bottles. Keep a large 2L water bottle in your backpack and use it to refill the canteen you carry around your waist or around your neck. You can sip the water as you walk and keep yourself hydrated while on the move. The water you need will depend on your weight, height and metabolism, but always bring more than you think you will need. A Light in the Darkness If you happen to get a bit disoriented in the Bush, you might end up coming back to your camp a bit later than expected. If this is the case, you'll want to have a high-powered torch to light your way. On a clear night, it can be easy to see your path in the Bush because of the moonlight and the starlight, but if it's overcast you'll definitely need this. Page | 2
