Inside a Luxury Transformation from Consultation to Final Putt with Back Nine Greens When it comes to creating a personal golf sanctuary, few experiences rival the luxury, customization, and precision of a Back Nine Greens installation. While the end result—a flawless, tour-inspired putting green nestled in your backyard—might feel like a dream come true, the journey itself is just as compelling. In this exclusive blog, we take you behind the scenes of a real artificial putting green installation, showcasing the process from the first design consultation to the moment the final putt drops. Step 1: The Vision – Personalized Consultation It all begins with a dream. A client in Palm Desert reached out to Back Nine Greens after visiting a friend’s backyard green. They envisioned more than just a putting surface—they wanted a space that blended seamlessly into their modern landscape, offered realistic play, and reflected their passion for golf. During the initial consultation, Back Nine Greens’ design expertsvisited the property to assess the site’s layout, sun exposure, drainage, and aesthetics. Measurements were taken, photos captured, and most importantly, the client’s goals were clearly defined. Would it be a private practice ground? A social centerpiece for weekend entertaining? A Zen-like retreat? For this client, it was all three. Step 2: Bespoke Design – Curves, Contours & Creativity Next came the design phase, where the real magic started to unfold. Back Nine Greens’ design team sketched a custom layout tailored to the homeowner’s preferences. The client wanted a green that included three holes, each with distinct elevation, as well as fringe and rough areas to simulate on-course conditions. Inspiration was drawn from PGA course designs the client admired—subtle breaks, soft slopes, and playable yet challenging lines. Digital renderings helped the client visualize how green would complement their home’s modern architecture and landscaping. From lighting integration to flow around existing patios and pools, every detail was thoughtfully considered.
