The Role of Intravascular OCT in Advancing Cardiovascular Imaging

Global Intravascular Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Imaging Systems for Cardiology are medical devices that utilize light waves to create high-resolution images of the interior of blood vessels. These systems consist of a catheter that contains a specialized light source and a detector, which is inserted into the blood vessel. The catheter emits a beam of near-infrared light that penetrates the vessel wall and is then reflected back by the tissues inside. The reflected light is captured by the catheter and used to generate a cross-sectional image of the vessel.
