  1. BUDGET2024-25:Key AnnouncementsforEducationSector ImportantAnnouncementoftheNewBudgetforHigherEducationandSkillDevelopment. TheHon’bleFinanceMinisterSmt.NirmalaSitaramanhasmadeaspecialmentionintheBudgetTheme:“Provision of ₹1.48 lakh crore for education, employmentandskilling”. ThisBudgettalkedabouttheninePrioritiesoftheGovt.andthesealsoinclude“Employment&Skilling”,“InclusiveHumanResourceDevelopment” and“Innovation,Research&Development”.

Highlightsofannouncements: • WomenSpecificSkillingProgrammes • Toincreasetheparticipationofwomenintheworkforce,GoIhasannouncedthesettingupofWorkingWomenHostelsandCreches.ThesewillbedevelopedincollaborationwiththeIndustryPartners. • SkillingProgrammeandNewCourseContent • TheGoIhassetanimpressivetargetofskilling20lakhyouthduringaperiodof5years.Tosupportthisgoal,theGovt.announcedupgradingof1000ITIsunderHubandSpokemodel.Govt.alsodeclaredoutcomeorientedeffortstowardsthisupgradation. • Additionally,theGoIisalsolookingforwardtodevelopingCourseContentandDesigninsyncwiththeIndustryneeds. • SkillingLoans • The‘ModelSkillLoansScheme’ will now facilitate loans of up to ₹7.5 Lakhs • forskilling.TheseloanswillbebackedbytheGuaranteeofaGovt. • PromotedFund.Withthisscheme,theGovt.aspirestohelp25,000studentseveryyearwhoenrolinvariousITIsandSkillDevelopmentInstitutes. • EducationLoans • These students can avail loans of up to ₹10 lakhs for their Higher Education inDomesticInstitutions.

  3. InternshipandAllowance • TheGovt.shalllaunchacomprehensiveschemeforprovidingInternshipopportunitiesintop500companiesto1Croreyouth.Withthisinitiative,Govt.wantstoprovide12Monthsreal-lifebusinessenvironmentexposuretotheyouth. • The Govt. shall extend an internship allowance of ₹5,000 per month along withaone-time assistance of ₹6,000. Companies will be expected to bear thetrainingcostand10percentoftheinternshipcostfromtheirCSRfunds.
