    14. Personal Journal One of the best goals is to keep a journal Minimum requirement is to fill in the journal section of the guidebook Better if much more is written in a journal, notebook or additional paper.

    15. Aaronic Priesthood and Scouting Duty to God award is a priesthood award All young men are encouraged to earn the Eagle Scout Award Scouting requirements may be used to fulfill many of the personal goals of the Duty to God program. The eagle scout service project may count for one of the Duty to God service projects

    16. Deacon - Family Goals Develop the habit of reading the scriptures daily. Read 1 Nephi through Mosiah. Read For the Strength of Youth, and discuss with your parents the importance of standards and values. Under the direction of your parents, organize and teach at least 4 family home evening lessons each year. Keep a written record of your family history. Prepare a 4-generation pedigree chart. With the help and permission of a parent, prepare at least 2 meals for your family. Read the twelfth article of faith, and briefly describe to your parents your national government. Perform at least 2 service projects for your family each year.

    17. Teacher - Family Goals In the Book of Mormon, read Alma through Moroni, and discuss it with your family. Study For the Strength of Youth. Discuss each topic with your parents. Discuss with your parents the purpose of a patriarchal blessing. When ready, talk with them about obtaining it. Under the direction of your parents, organize and teach at least 4 family home evening lessons each year. Read in Gospel Principles or Principles of the Gospel, and teach 2 topics to your family. Memorize the words and learn to conduct at least 3 hymns each year, 1 hymn in 2/4, 1 in 3/4, and 1 in 4/4 time. Learn to prepare and use a simple budget. Keep a budget for at least 2 months. Study and briefly describe to your parents your countrys constitution and the events that led to its creation. Plan an activity in which you and your family serve a neighbor or relative. Carry out the activity together.

    18. Priest - Family Goals Read the Book of Mormon. Discuss with your family the highlights from the book. Read For the Strength of Youth, and discuss with your parents your experience in living gospel standards. If you have not yet received your patriarchal blessing, begin making plans to do so. Under the direction of your parents, organize and teach at least 4 family home evening lessons each year. Read in Gospel Principles or Principles of the Gospel, and teach 2 topics to your family. Read D&C 4, and discuss what it means to be prepared for your mission. Talk to one or both of your parents about your career goals and how you are planning to achieve them. Read D&C 134, and discuss with your parents how it relates to your responsibilities as a citizen. Submit the name of one of your ancestors for temple work, or write a 500-word personal history. Read Endowed from on High, and discuss it with your parents.
