  2. Fair Use Guidelines: Certain materials are included under the fair use exemption of the U.S. Copyright Law and have been prepared according to the educational fair use guidelines.

  3. Why are farm animals important? They provide us with food and products such as wool and leather. Some also make good pets!

  4. Types of Farm Animals • Cow • Chicken • Pig • Horse • Sheep • Goat

  5. Cows • Bovine • Herbivorous Mammals • Provide us with beef and dairy products. • Names include bull, cow, calf.

  6. Chicken • Fowl • Omnivorous • Provide us with meat (poultry), and eggs. • Names include rooster, hen, and chick.

  7. Pigs • Swine • Omnivorous Mammal • Provide us with pork and leather. • Names include sow, boar, piglet.

  8. Horses • Herbivorous Mammals • Used for riding and racing • Names include mare, stallion, colt, filly, and foal.

  9. Activity Directions: • Get out your crayons and a clean sheet of paper. • Draw and color your favorite farm animal. • Write the animal’s name and list products that we get from the animal on your paper.
