Sites of Care • The Boise VA Medical Center is part of VISN 20 (Veterans Integrated Service Network) which includes VA Centers in Alaska, Washington, Idaho and Oregon • Operating under the umbrella of the Boise VAMC are: • Caldwell Community Based Outpatient Clinic • Twin Falls Community Based Outpatient Clinic • Salmon Behavioral Health Clinic • Burns Outreach Clinic • Mt. Home Outreach Clinic

  9. Comprehensive Health Care • Comprehensive health care is provided through primary, specialty and long-term care services in the areas of: • Medicine • Surgery • Psychiatry • Dentistry • Physical medicine and rehabilitation • Extended care

  10. Special Emphasis Programs • PTSD Treatment • Substance Abuse Treatment • Contract Home Health Care (CHHC) • Female Veterans • VIST (Visual Impairment Services Team) • Homeless Veterans Care • Prosthetics

Academically Affiliated • The Boise VA Medical Center has several active academic affiliations including agreements with the University of Washington School of Medicine, Boise State University, and the Idaho State University. Over 275 residents, interns, and students are trained at the Boise VA Medical Center each year.

  13. Demographics • Over 100,000 Veterans live in the Boise VAMC catchment area • The Boise VAMC will provide care to over 24,000 unique (individual) patients in FY 2010.

  14. Summary • The Boise VA Medical Center is an acute care teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research. Comprehensive health care is provided through primary care, secondary, and long-term care in areas of medicine, surgery, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, dentistry, geriatrics, and extended care.
