  1. How Studying Abroad Helps You to Get a Job Knowledge is becoming obsolete at an accelerating pace and we all are at least remotely experiencing the changes. Online universities, virtual classroom and offices, niche certifications (ranging from as low as 1 day to 6 months), cross-disciplinary learning are some of the most profound changes happening in a sector that was considered too traditional not long back. Mercantilists nations as the US, UK, and Europe have also conquered world education in the post-war era and have written new laws of material success. Despite the reality that Europe is facing a crisis situation in terms of job growth, still, it is way ahead of Asian tigers in terms of standard of living and preparing candidates for the future world. Foreign education certainly holds the key to some of the most critical components and skills sets that are the need of the 21st-century workplace like Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Collaboration and Leadership Effective Oral and Written Communication Curiosity and Imagination Analysis of Big Data This article is a step towards strengthening the relevance of a foreign qualification when it comes to job opportunities and career growth.

  2. MNCs want candidates with a holistic worldview of subjects and events With information age, a new concept had emerged, “Convergence” a basis of operation based on uniformity across all locations worldwide. In an era of globalization, liberalization, and privatization, MNCs are preferring candidates who possess a working knowledge of 2-3 languages and are cognizant of cultural differences and professional ethics. Overseas education helps develop it in an indirect and effective way. Tech-Savvy individuals are much better prepared for today’s working conditions Overseas Education promotes learning through digital modes like systems, webinars, and experiential forms like workshops and industrial visits. As such students are much better equipped to apply the learning even before leaving for the industry. In this aspect, foreign education has an unfair advantage over institutions in India and other Asian economies. The curriculum is matched with the best industry practices and subjects are incorporated based on relevance and future growth. Street Smart and not Book Smart is the Order of the Day Evidence-Based Research shows that all career growth (both technical and non-technical) is a direct function of psychology and mechanics. The strange finding is that of the two, psychology or the emotion quotient (EQ) occupies 80% of the impact i.e. WHO YOU ARE DEEP INSIDE and only 20% on mechanics i.e. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE. The real merit of learning lies in its practical utility. This is evident in the ever-increasing numbers of college dropouts making it big in real life. In fact, learning from an international study abroad destination drives up the entrepreneurial spirit to create new pathways to financial wellbeing. It’s like saying that when you feel like independent and have little resources to resort to for assistance, that surely brings in the zest to do it all by yourself. Foreign education teaches this big time. Students aren’t much worried about the future because it brings in the ability of resourcefulness. You have lots of opportunities to brainstorm ideas with peer groups and seniors across various issues and can create your own think tank and lay grounds for execution. Foreign Education Will Make you Diligent and Versatile Once you are abroad, you will have to manage most of the chores all by yourself. You will be more accountable for your actions. Though it will certainly not make you happy, it will surely make you tough. Companies want candidates who are industrious and who can be put to more than one role during times of crisis. As such acquiring a laser-sharp focus only in your field and forgetting the rest may not reap great result. One of the greatest practical economists of all time, Paul Zane Pilzer says that the most successful people in the 21st century will be the ones who learn new things the fastest. This has actually proved to be true. Asian economies have focused their education towards specialization, whereas first

  3. world economies have found that a true understanding of the inter-relationships of systems is far more important than catering to just one niche. That’s why books by foreign authors are more in demand because they provide a well round understanding of a subject and its effects on other fields. As an illustration, today’s company will prefer a candidate from finance who can also deal in client handling to a candidate who doesn’t have that intelligence. A marketing guy may be asked to do direct sales, and a candidate has to be ready for it. Foreign institutions know this very well. Indian colleges are yet to incorporate this in a serious way. Thus the idea is that you will not only be taught to be diligent and versatile, but you also have to demonstrate just the same. Career Counselling Still Is Overly Under-rated Ask any Indian student, “Why Did You Choose Science / Commerce / Humanities” and the chances are they just don’t know. Perhaps you may be one of them. Foreign learning is very different from this. That’s why you are asked to write you SOP (Statement of Purpose), so universities are particularly sure of not making of someone something he/she isn’t made for. We all are good at something. The important thing is to know what and the next things is to choose a sub-field that brings in the best of our energies. So once you are sure of your discipline, international colleges and universities may counsel you in making great career decisions. Profiling of candidates based on purpose, passion, and performance is a very area of concern for international colleges and a right counsel at a right time makes way for an easier more rewarding career. Studying Abroad will make you People Friendly and More Resourceful While we have assumed a guaranteed placement belief on having just a degree, things just don’t happen this way. Studying abroad definitely won’t offer any guarantee, but then it will definitely make you competent enough to get a job on your own. Foreign students don’t rely much on placement cell, and most of the students are able to place themselves in companies through professional networking and harnessing other resources. Apart from that, a serious learning from abroad will make you resourceful enough to be demanded by Indian companies once you are back home. Building networks, becoming a team player, and learning new things will surely promise a rewarding career. Foreign education will provide you with a fertile ground to put in serious efforts in all these areas.
