  2. 2007 – Winners (India) 12 years ago on September 24, Team India lifted the inaugural World T20 trophy in South Africa. MS Dhoni led India Team experienced a surreal win by defeating Team Pakistan by just 5 runs. 2007 Key Moment Yuvraj Singh will forever be remembered as one of the best middle-order batsmen. He entered the pages of history by hitting 6 sixes in a row. Yuvraj made his fifty in just 12 balls, till date the quickest in T20I cricket. Image Source: India Today

  3. 2009 – Winners (Pakistan) After missing out on a chance to win the trophy in the inaugural edition, Pakistan came back strongly in 2009 to win the title. Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka in the final with 8 wickets to spare. Shahid Afridi played a fine knock of 54 runs to help Pakistan win the trophy. 2009 Key Moment Ireland defeated Bangladesh in their opening match of the International T20 Cup by 6 wickets. Also, Tilakaratne Dilshan scored a sensational 96 in the semifinal against West Indies.

  4. 2010 Key Moment 2010 – Winners (England) The 2010 edition of the T20 World Cup was the first-ever ICC trophy win for England’s men’s team. Craig Kieswetter played a wonderful knock of 63 runs against Australia in the final match and ensured a win for his team. England won the game by 7 wickets in 17 overs to lift the title. Michael Hussey’s sensational 24-ball 60* in the semifinal against Pakistan was the highlight of the tournament and helped Australia chase down a humongous target of 192 to advance to the final.   5. 2012 Key Moment 2012 – Winners (West Indies) Marlon Samuels scored a fantastic 78 in the final against Sri Lanka. In fact, the next highest run-scorer for West Indies was Darren Sammy, who scored 26. Samuels single-handedly helped the West Indies clinch the trophy. West Indies were in deep trouble while batting first in the final, but Marlon Samuels held one end to help them to a decent total of 137/6. He hammered 78 runs off 56 balls, including three fours and six sixes. The Sri Lankan team failed to put up a fight in the final, being dismissed for 101 runs and losing by 36 runs.   6. 2014 Key Moment 2014 – Winners (Sri Lanka) The Sri Lankan team finally tasted triumph in the 2014 T20 World Cup after losing in several ICC tournament finals. In the final match, they played against India. Team India's Virat Kohli led the squad in scoring with 77 runs off 58 balls. Sri Lanka easily chased down the mark, thanks to Kumar Sangakkara's fifty. With 13 balls to spare, they won the game by 6 wickets. Virat Kohl ended the tournament as the highest run-scorer, plundering 319 runs in 6 innings at an average of 106.33. Image Source: Dawn

  7. 2016 Key Moment 2016 – Winners (West Indies) Carlos Brathwaite blasted four straight sixes off Ben Stokes in the 2016 final against England, when West Indies needed 19 runs off the last six deliveries. With their triumph in the 2016 edition, West Indies became the first team to win the T20 World Cup twice. England was leading in the final match and needed to defend 19 runs in the final over.
