CO2laser The CO2 laser is used for boring, cutting and engraving. It is created using radio frequency energy. This type of laser is used for industrial cutting of aluminium, mild steel, stainless steel, paper, wax, plastics, wood and fabrics. It has four different types of varieties which include fast axial flow, slow axial flow, transverse flow, and slab. As it has a small wavelength, a YAG laser can make different types of metals and a few plastics. Overall, it is faster than a CO2 laser system. FiberLasers Fiber lasers are generally maintenance-free and feature a long service life of at least 25,000 laser hours. Thus, fiber lasers have a far longer lifecycle than the other two types and they can produce strong and stable beams. They can manage intensities 100 times higher than that of CO2 lasers with the same amount of average power.
