How to Find Out your Child Should Start Wearing Toddler Glasses
Children's learning and development depend on good vision and eye health. Though vision continues to develop until age 8 or 9, it is crucial to have your child's eyes examined as early as possible to detect problems. Your child's eyes should be checked by their paediatrician at birth, at six months of age, at three to four years of age, at five years of age, and every subsequent year at their routine well-check visit. A vision test that can be done at your child's primary care provider is different from a comprehensive eye exam, which is usually conducted by an optometrist or ophthalmologist. Parents need to keep an eye out for warning signs to wear toddler glasses that may arise between checkups. Make sure to ask your child's doctor for an examination if you think it is appropriate.
If your child is exhibiting the following symptoms, please contact your child's physician immediately to set up an appointment with an ophthalmologist. You might be able to see them just by looking into his eyes. This is indicative of serious issues: cross-eyedness (one eye turned out), eye tremors, cloudy pupils in babies, bulging eyes, droopy eyelids, chronic tearing, redness, and swelling. If your child is squinting or rubbing his eyes, you should get him checked out immediately.
Your child may be experiencing vision issues if he behaves differently than he used to. For example, he used to sit far from the TV and now he sits close to it. It used to be that he could always catch a ball, but now he can't. Your child might have problems at school if she is having difficulty copying from the blackboard to her paper, especially if she was able to do so before. You can ask your child if he is having difficulty seeing something if he is old enough. All of these signals may signify that your child needs to start using toddler glasses. Have your child screened by a pediatrician and then referred to an eye specialist if there is a problem with his vision or check the kid's glasses online.
Your doctor can tell you whether your child's development is normal or not by having an eye exam. If you think your child is having difficulty recognising colours, recognising letters or numbers, or learning, ask your doctor for a comprehensive eye examination or suggest proper toddler glasses.
