  1. How To Dress For Oktoberfest In Munich Oktoberfest, held annually in Munich, Germany, is by far the world’s most popular folk festival. It attracts millions of visitors from various parts of the world each year. According to a report, guests consume almost seven million litres of beer and enjoy a wide range of traditional Bavarian food like sausage, chicken, giant pretzels, etc. The first Oktoberfest was held in October 1810 to celebrate the marriage of the King Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. It was a time of celebration which involved horse races, parades, music and of course plenty of food and beer. This German tradition has grown today into celebrations held all over the world. The Oktoberfest in Munich is the largest of its kind and lasts just over two weeks. Besides lively music and traditional German food and drink, Oktoberfest has great family activities like parades filled with marching bands, costume and rifle clubs and flag-wavers. To be a true participant in Oktoberfest, what you wear is very important. Traditional German attired includes lederhosen for men and a dirndl for women. Lederhosen are leather shorts typically worn with suspenders. A dirndl is a traditional Bavarian dress with full skirt, apron and blouse. Europeanfashionandgifts is here to help you dress the part.
