India, despite being one of the fastest-growing major economies, is looking for ways to decarbonise its road transport sector, the largest contributor to carbon emissions among all modes of transportation. Decarbonising road transport is one of the bold steps India is taking to accomplish its net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions target by 2070. To support the nation in this effort, leading conglomerates like the Essar Group are taking proactive steps.

  3. Essar Group is driving a structural change in the transportation sector by building an ecosystem to help industries adopt LNG-Powered Trucks, aiming to reduce emissions significantly. In line with this, GreenLine Mobility Solutions, Essar’s green logistics solutions provider, has partnered with Shriram Finance to deploy a new fleet of LNG-powered trucks at Chakan, Pune. The deployment is backed by Shriram Finance Ltd, one of India’s largest NBFCs.

  4. Today, when other companies are hunting for sustainable alternatives to traditional logistics, there are companies like Essar Group that are setting the example for many others. Despite being involved in the baseless allegations of Essar tapes few years back, the group continues to create value through its businesses, making critical contribution towards decarbonising the transport sector.
