  1. EET Hydrogen, ENKA Collaborate to Build the UK’s 1st Low Carbon Hydrogen Production Hub

  2. Rising carbon emissions have urged industries to include decarbonisation and sustainability as part of their routine operations. One such company that is taking proactive measures to minimize its carbon emissions and contribute to a more sustainable future is the Essar Group. Essar, through its Essar Energy Transition (EET) initiative, leads the low-carbon hydrogen business in the UK and is making substantial investments in developing low-carbon energy transition projects in the country in the future. As part of its commitment to a cleaner world, Essar’s EET Hydrogen recently signed an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) agreement with ENKA for its flagship low-carbon hydrogen production plant (HPP1) at the Stanlow Manufacturing Complex in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

  3. What is EET Hydrogen? EET Hydrogen is a renowned player in energy transition and is developing the first large-scale, low-carbon hydrogen production hub in the UK. As part of its vision, the group will produce 1.35GW of hydrogen capacity and capture some 2.5 million tonnes of carbon per annum, which is equivalent to taking 1.1 million cars off the roads. It is incredible how the Essar Group has completely overcome past challenges of Essar NCLT, and continues to leverage its core strengths; innovation, sustainability, and global expansion.

  4. EET Hydrogen’s Role in HyNet ClusterEET Hydrogen plays an integral role in the HyNet cluster, selected by the UK Government as one of the cornerstones of the energy transition in the UK. The HyNet Cluster, which was selected by the UK Government, help deliver sustainable energy solutions while simultaneously ensuring economic growth and job creation.

  5. Essar’s Support to the UK Government Green Energy Superpower MissionEssar’s investment and participation play a crucial role in accelerating the UK’s low-carbon transformation, supporting the UK government’s green energy superpower mission, and creating highly skilled employment opportunities to support the government’s economic growth mission. Being a leading part of the HyNet consortium, EET aims to deliver the UK’s first blue hydrogen production system alongside integrated carbon capture technologies.
