Originally Posted On Epicwatchbands.com There's a lot of info on the Internet about the new Apple Watch Series 6 and SE. So instead of repeating what you can find elsewhere, we figured we'd just call out the changes from Series 5 to Series 6 (for those curious as to whether it's worth upgrading or not). Here's what's different about Series 6: Blood Oxygen Monitor: Which helps you understand how well your body is absorbing oxygen, and the amount of oxygen delivered to your body.

  2. Always-On Altimeter: Which provides real-time elevation all day long. This feature allows for the detection of small elevation changes above ground level, up and down to the measurement of 1 foot. Upgraded Always-On Retina Display: This is the same type of display in the Series 5, but the Series 6 is 2.5 times brighter (making it easier to see). Improved Internals: Series 6 has an upgraded chipset which should lower power consumption. But with the brighter Retina display, we'll need some real-world testing to see if the battery life is any better. New Color Options: In addition to the standard lineup, there are now Blue and Red options for the Aluminum case. And, Graphite is now available for the Stainless Steel case. So is it worth upgrading to the Series 6? If you really value the differences we've outlined above, then go for it! But we think that the majority of Series 5 owners will not see the differences compelling enough. IS APPLE WATCH 6 WORTH IT? We do think that the Series 6 is an amazing product and well worth the money. But only if you don't already have an Apple Watch, or an older Series (4 or older). IS APPLE WATCH SE WORTH IT? The Apple Watch SE has the same display, accelerometer, gyroscope, altimeter, and fall detection as the Series 6 but with the Series 5 chipset. The SE doesn’t have the Blood Oxygen Sensors (of the Series 6) and there was no mention of ECG sensors (of the Series 5). All in all, the SE seems to be a minor step down from the Series 5. So it would make little sense to "upgrade" from a Series 5 to an SE. Overall the SE's cheaper price makes it a worthy choice if you don't have an Apple Watch yet, or thinking of a more affordable upgrade from Series 4 or older. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT ALL YOUR EPIC WATCH BANDS WILL CONTINUE TO WORK WITH THE APPLE WATCH SERIES 6!
