- Many NTA tour companies don’t attend convention because …
- It’s the wrong time of year
- They “don’t do business that way”
- More operators requesting “open books”
- More operators coming as “non- participants”

- NTA operators represent:
- Domestic group travel
- Independent travel
- International inbound business
- Global travel
- Affinity, niche and special interest travel
- Adventure travel
- Incentive travel, meetings and events

- They sell to:
- Students/youth
- Young adults
- Baby boomers
- Seniors
- Gays, lesbians and heterosexuals
- Americans, Canadians
- Customers from various nationalities

- Operators package and schedule appointments by destination
- Suppliers and DMOs in pavilions by state, province or country

- NTA level playing field: only banner stands or banners in booths
- Sponsors (Silver level or above) could still decorate
- Operator appointments scheduled consecutively within destinations.
- Suggesting 15-minute appointments for more meaningful business
- Operators also have regional “shopping” time

- Suppliers and DMOs preschedule “quick meetings” with operators
- “Speed dating” exchange of business cards, make appointments for later
