  3. Where in the world is Aberwhatsits?! • Aberystwyth is approximately 4,000 miles from West Lafayette, IN. • Aberystwyth is on the West Wales coast. • Irish Sea one side and rolling Welsh hills the other.

  4. How to get there? • Fly to London Heathrow. • From London: • Train • Bus

  5. Train • To get from London Heathrow: • Take Heathrow express to London Paddington Station • Take tube (subway) Hammersmith and city line towards Baker Street. • Get off at Euston Station • Go to http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ to plan your journey and buy tickets in advance. • Easiest route: • London Euston Station to Birmingham New Street Station • CHANGE TRAINS • Birmingham New Street Station to Aberystwyth Station. • Takes best part of 5 hours • Station is in town. • Pick up either by Study abroad staff • OR • Taxi up to campus (approx cost £5).

Bus • National Express • Get the Heathrow Hotel Hoppa service to Heathrow’s central Bus station. • Board bus heading to Birmingham. • CHANGE BUSES • Board bus heading to Aberystwyth. • Takes best part of 8 hours. • Drops you off on campus. • Cheaper than train. • Go to http://www.nationalexpress.com/ for times and booking.

Cont. • Nightlife!! • 52 bars/clubs. • More bars per square mile than ANYWHERE in the UK. • Ranges from the union to big chains to your local student dives. • Always something going on. • Look at Guild’s website for ents listings. • http://www.aberguild.co.uk/ents/ • Movies. • One screen cinema in town. • Couple of screens in the Arts Centre on campus.
