  1. Safety in Automotive Industry from Pot Holes Pot Holes and Their Safety Hazards Potholes on the roads cause various accidents and fatalities. We can take a few safety measures to keep our car safe from these potholes. What Are potholes? A hole in a road surface that results from gradual damage caused by traffic or weather or accidents is called a pothole: when the car's suspension is good you will hardly notice a pothole when you hit it on the road. They are called potholes because Anxious for a cheap source of raw materials for making clay pots and stuff, the potters would dig into the deep ruts to reach clay deposits underneath. Teams driving wagons and coaches over those roads knew who and what caused these holes and referred to them as “potholes.” The last few decades have seen the advent of technology in all spheres of life and technologies. The automotive industry is no exception. Vehicles have changed tremendously over the past few decades. Vehicle manufacturers are always looking for new innovations to win over the customer segment. But are these new additions beneficial for a driver or vehicle owner? The main purpose of this article is to discuss the pros and cons of the latest automotive technology. Safety- Keeping safety in mind, the enhanced technology has only complicated matters. In the old days, vehicles were not known for their speed. But, with the improvement in technology, the speed of vehicles has increased. But it has also led to a large number of fatalities in accidents, though technologies like shock absorbers and racing suspensions have also been added to vehicles for making driving safer and easier. Seat belt safety which became popular and compulsory in the 1980s has certainly reduced the number of accidents. Enhancing the strength of cars is another strategy to enhance cars' efficacy which has been adopted by various automobile- producing companies. Power Steering- In terms of power steering, the cars have surely improved. Now, you don't require to use power while turning cars. Also, reverse parking is now a comparatively simple process. So in this regard, you can say that new technology has generated a positive impact.

  2. Improved side view mirrors- During the early days of the production of vehicles, the near-side view mirrors were not mostly fitted in the vehicles. But in all contemporary vehicles, you will find near- side mirrors. These mirrors are extremely helpful while changing lanes. This prevents road accidents and also makes driving easier. Gear-less vehicles- Everyone knows about auto cars. Some people find it difficult to drive vehicles, in which gears have to be changed regularly. In order to aid such people, new vehicles which run automatically, with only adjustment of the speed being required have been invented. This innovation has acted as a blessing for people with limited reflexes or senior citizens in the twilight of their life. Such people have also now got the opportunity to drive vehicles, whereas earlier they were mostly dependent on public transport. GPS Maps- This has been an extraordinarily useful innovation. These involve road maps related to your destination, which can be viewed on inbuilt screens or mobile phones. This makes driving much safer, as searching for an address in the directory while driving could prove to be hazardous. How do potholes affect cars? Potholes can puncture your tire or bend or crack your wheel. It can damage your tire's sidewall or belts. Even a minor impact may knock your vehicle out of alignment. A pothole strike can damage your shocks or struts, or harm your suspension. How potholes cause road accidents? They occur when the top layer of the road, the asphalt, has worn away and exposed the concrete base. Once a pothole forms, it can grow to several feet, with rain water accelerating the process and creating a trap for vehicles, making one of the top causes of car accidents.
