  2. Philodendrons are one of the easiest and low maintained plants to grow indoors. If you are planning for a houseplant do consider Philodendrons.Philodendrons leaves are large, green, thick, and glossy. It is a great decision to plant in your home for its air purifying quality. Philodendrons can grow up to six feet with wide areas depending on their species, and the size of the container planted in.There are two types of Philodendrons:Vining: The vining philodendron requires support to climb up such as a hanging basket or trellis due to having ariel roots. There are many vining varieties of philodendron such as Monstera deliciosa, or Swiss cheese plant. Non-vining: Non-vining philodendron grows upright and works best with foliage plants in plant containers as its having fast-growing capacity.The best time is spring to plant philodendrons but you can start houseplants at any time of the year.

How To care Philodendron:As we know philodendron needs low maintenance nature but still, you must take care of your plant to be healthy.Plant in the pot that has a hole at the bottom for the extra water drainage system. Put the plant under bright sunlight.  Light: For an indoor plant, place the philodendron plant by a window where you get indirect sunlight. More lights get your plant leaves to turn yellow. Take care your plant gets moderate lights, not too much or less.Soil: Philodendron needs loose soil potting with a good drainage hole at the bottom of the pot. It is recommended to replace the soil every year.

  4. Water: Philodendron needs moderate moisture in the soil. Soil moisture checking list regularly must be there for proper watering. Thus, water your plant every one to two weeks to avoid the plant getting yellow leaves. These plants cannot handle overwatering or underwatering. It leads to the plant getting yellow leaves. Always give less water during winter time to avoid over-watering.Temperature and Humidity: Philodendrons like humidity so prevent them from direct air conditioning vents indoors. To avoid dryness, you can spray water through a spray bottle to moisten the plant.Fertilizer: Every month, there is a requirement for fertilizer for getting your plant enough calcium and magnesium. Regular fertilizing your plant keeps healthy and long-lasting.Pruning and Propagation: Pruning helps to lead to new growth of your plant and keeps your plant healthy.
