Source of energy, it is very important for us to know from where we get energy to run our life....<br>in this ppt you will come to know various sources from which energy is gernated..

What are the sources of energy? The sources from which we get energy are called sources of energy. Example- Wind energy solar energy fossil fuel
There are two main sources of energyThey are conventional and non -conventional sources of energy. Example of conventional sources of energy- wood, coal, flowing water, petroleum Example of non conventional sources of energy-solar energy, wind energy, biomass energy, ocean energy.
Conventional source of energy Fossil fuels- These are formed inside the earth from the remains of plants and animals after millions of years. The fossil fuels are coal, petroleum and natural gas. Fossil fuels are non renewable source of energy so they should be conserved and used wisely.
Non- conventional source of energy SOLAR ENERGY- It is the energy obtained from sun in the form of heat and light .The heat energy is used in solar heating devices ,solar water heater, solar furnaces etc.
Biomass energy The waste materials and dead parts of living things are called biomass. Example wood, animal dung, vegetables waste, agricultural waste. Biogas is mixture of gases containing methane, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and hydrogen sulphide.
Wind energy Moving wind possesses kinetic energy which can be harnessed properly to generate electricity.
Ocean energy When strong wind blow over the sea it produce huge waves. The kinetic energy of the moving waves can be used to rotate the turbines of generators to produce electricity.
Disadvantage of fossil fuels Fossil fuels are not renewable energy sources. If we don’t reduce consumption, we will run out of them, very quickly. Fossil fuels pollute the environment. fossil fuels contribute to greenhouse gases, which is one of the major disadvantage. In the case of irresponsible use, they can be dangerous. They combust to create an acidic environment. They can be dangerous to harvest. They may contribute to public health issues.
WAYS TO PROTECT fossil fuels AND AVOID MASS DESTRUCTION. Drive fuel efficient vehicles. Switch to energy efficient blubs. Prevent wasteful overuse of water. Reducing electricity use and cost. Recycle and reuse. Opt for active travel options. Plastic is not that fantastic…
