  2. Getting a license in the US is a complex endeavor. But, physician medical license service providers can make the procedure easier so you can focus on passing your USMLE exam. This exam is necessary to pass in order to obtain a physician medical license in the United States. Here’s everything you need to know about the USMLE exam to get a physician license. Stage 1 This is a long exam that takes place over 8 hours with a 45-minute break in between. There are about 280 multiple choice questions wherein you must answer a maximum of 40 questions per hour. This is quite a difficult examination so you must gear up accordingly. The minimum score required to pass is 192. However, if two students obtain the same score, preference would be given to the American student.

  3. Stage 2 After passing stage 1, you enter stage 2 which comprises another two exams: CK and CS. The CK exam consists of 8 blocks of 44 multiple choice questions. The exam duration is 9 hours and you get a one hour break in between. Students also have the option to appear for this exam from home. The clinical disciplines on which you would be tested are surgery, psychiatry, medicine, pediatrics, gynaecology, and obstetrics. The CS exam is practical in nature which lasts for 2 days. This is an interesting exam as 12 fake patients would meet you and you will be given 25 minutes per patient to treat them. Apart from your medical knowledge, this exam will test your verbal and communication skills.

  4. Stage 3 The last stage consists of a two-day exam which lasts for 8 hours. Non-American medical aspirants must take this assessment in the US before residency while Americans have the option to take this after the first year of residency. On the first day, you will get a total of 256 questions in 6 blocks and one hour to solve each block. The next day you will have to solve a total of 198 questions in 3 hours, after which you will be handling 13 cases in real-time simulation and 10-20 minutes per case.
