  3. Surgery is not the main option of treatment for broken shoulder or scapula fracture. If a fracture displaces bones, forcing them out of their normal positions then surgery becomes essentials. So lets us understand the Nonsurgical Treatment options Examples of nonsurgical treatment include: Using a sling or shoulder immobilizer. This is used to prevent movement. Shoulder immobilizers usually have straps and cuffs for the arm, wrist, and fingers which help in more stabilization. Usually, the shoulder is immobilized until the pain reduces. Usually, it takes 3 or 4 weeks depending on the type or severity of the fracture. Taking pain medication- This will help to reduce pain and swelling. NASID drugs like naproxen and ibuprofen are mostly used for pain treatment. Regularly icing the affected area – Icing help in reduces swelling.
