One small and casual sentence from my friend Neha led to a plan that made all of us feel refreshed and full of energy again. We didn't plan a big trip, didn't book any hotels, and didn't make too many arguments or complicated plans. We simply went for a fun, classic one-day trip to a farmhouse close to Bangalore. HowthePlan Started ItwasFridayevening.Inourofficewhatsappgroup,peopleweresharingfunnypictures,talking aboutworkdeadlines,andusingemojisthatshowedtheywerefeelingtired.Atthatmoment,Neha sentamessagetothegroup.Nehasaid,“Heyfriends,Ifounda nicefarmhousethathas aswimming pool.It’sonly45minutesawayfrom Bangalore. ShouldwegotherethisSunday?” Noovernights.Nobigprep.Justasingle-dayoutingwithclosefriends. Wehadgonetoresortsearlier,buttheywerealwaysfullofpeopleandwedidn'tgetenoughtimeto relaxproperly.Thistimewewerelookingforaplacewherewecouldbealone,enjoyquiettime,and alsohavefun.Everyonesaidyestotheplanrightaway,withoutanydoubt.There weresixpeoplein thegroup.Webookedthe farmhouse,dividedthetotalcostequally(eachpersonpaid₹700),andourplanwasready. TheDriveandtheFirstImpression OnSundaymorning,wegotreadybytakingsomefood,aspeakerforplayingmusic,andabluetooth microphone,andwestartedourtripintwocars.Thefarmhousewerentedwaslocatednearaplace calledMoinabad.Theareaarounditwasfullof greenery,theroads werebigandopen,and there wereveryfewvehiclesonthe way,sodrivingtherewaseasyandpeaceful. Assoonaswesteppedintothefarmhousethroughthegate,everythingaroundusfeltcalm.Itwas soquietandbeautifulthatitfeltliketimehadbecome slow,likewehadenteredadifferentworld awayfromthebusyandfastlifeofthecity. Therewasabigopengrassyarea.Gardenchairswereplacedunderamangotreewherepeople couldsitandrelax.Therewasalsoaprivateswimmingpoolthatwasshininginthesunlight. Nearby, therewasa smallbutclean2-bedroomhouse thatalsohadakitchen.Wecouldhearbirdssinging. Therewasnonoisefromcarhornslikeinthecity.Wecouldalsosmellthefresh,wetsoilbecause it hadrainedalittlethenightbefore. Everythingfeltcalmandjustright. StraightIntothe Pool Weplayedbysplashingwaterateach other,had funplayingvolleyballinthepool,relaxedbyfloating onwatertubes,andsangsongs.Wewerehavingsomuchfun thatwedidn’tevennoticehowmuch timehadpassed. WecarriedasmallJBLmusicspeakerwithus,andoneofourfriendsplayedoldbollywoodsongsby addingthemtotheplaylist.Pictureyourselfrelaxinginaswimmingpoolwhiletheoldsongisplaying,andyourfriendsarealltryingtodance togetherinthesamesteps —that’show funand chill themoodwasfor us.

Lunch:DIYBBQandLaughter Around1o'clockinthe afternoon,westopped ouractivitiestorestandeat.Thekitchenhadallthe basicthingsweneeded,likeagasstovetocook,afridgetokeepcoolandcookingtoolslikespoons, platesandpans.Beforecomingtothefarmhouse,wehadalreadysoakedchickenandpaneerin spicesandsauces,sotheywerereadytocook.Thepeopleworkingatthefarmhousehelpedus get thebarbeque(BBQ)grillreadysowecouldcookthefoodoutside. Cookingasagroupwasfunandexciting,likeasmallpicnic.Itfeltlikewewerepartofacooking show,wherepeoplecookandcompete,butjustforfun.Someofuswereusingplatesorhandsto blowaironthefiretokeeptheBBQflamesburning.Somepeoplekepttryingthefoodbeforeitwas ready,justtocheckifitwasgood.Therestof thegroupdidn'thelpmuch;theywereonlytaking picturesandpretendingtoguideorgiveinstructionswithoutdoinganyactualwork.It'ssaid jokingly.You knowhowthisalwayshappens!"It’safunnywaytosaythiskindofbehaviorisnormalin everygroup. Weweresittingintheopengardenandeatingfoodusingcheap,throwawayplates.Wewere enjoyingthefoodsomuchthatweevenlickedourfingersaftereating.Wewererememberingand tellingeachotheroldstoriesfromthe timewhenwestudiedincollege.Eventhoughitwasasimple momentwithnobigdecorations or expensive things,wefeltveryhappyandfull likeitwas somethingreallyspecialandvaluable. Games,Naps,andGoldenHour Afterlunch,afewpeoplefromourgrouptriedto takeashortrestoutside,inaplacethathadsome shade.Theylaydownonsimplebedsthatwereplacedoutdoors.Twofriendsbeganplayingafun, smallversionofcricketlikeboxcricket.Theyuseasofttennisballandinsteadofrealwickets,we usedgardenchairsasareplacementtoplaythegame.Morepeoplesawthemplayingandjoined in. Whatstartedas asmallgamewithtwopeoplebecameacompletematchwithteamsandrules.The teamthatlostthecricketmatchhadtodo afun punishment.Theyhadtosinganddancenon-stop foronewholeminute.Itwasvery funny,andsomeofusrecordeditandposteditonInstagram— thevideosmadeeveryonelaughalot. Insidethefarmhouse,therewasacarromboard.Wealsobroughtsomefungameslikeuno and jengawithus.Wefeltlikewewerechildrenagain.Wedidn’tlookatourphonesorworryabout importantemails.Wewerejustenjoyingthepresenttimeandhavingfun.
