  1. Your cat’s tail is more than just providing balance to her. It is used by your feline to communicate and depict her emotions along with signalling her mood. In a way, your cat’s tail language is trying to communicate things to you. It just requires you to understand the feline language. If you recognise the different messages depicted by her tail, it would enable you to decode the cat tail talk. Tail Swishing From Side To Side When your kitty swishes her tail from side to side, it means that she is focusing her entire attention on a specific object. You can see her tail position right before she pounces on things like cat toys, insect or a moving object. Tail Getting Puffed Up Sometimes the kitty’s tail gets thicker resulting in a fatty and bushy look which implies that she is feeling agitated, scared or afraid. Generally, she would do this in front of an animal, usually other cats from whom she is scared. It is a way to protect herself from possible attackers.
