  1. Partnering with the Right Vendors Becomes Critical as IT Complexity Increases People have been talking about “IT complexity” for years now, but a new survey conducted by Vanson Bourne adds some hard data to the discussion. The study found that the average web-based or mobile transaction touches 35 different components or systems, up from just 22 five years ago. There’s no sign of this trend slowing down. More than half (53 percent) of CIOs surveyed say they plan to implement new technologies within the next year. As IT complexity continues to increase exponentially, 76 percent of CIOs say it could soon become impossible to efficiently manage digital performance. Many IT teams are struggling to keep pace with business demand for new IT services, while at the same time managing their existing environment. Implementation of a new solution often involves painstaking evaluation of multiple products from multiple vendors. Once the right products have been identified, the procurement process can be painfully slow with substantial risk for errors and delays. These challenges extend to the physical data center infrastructure. Data center managers must carefully plan the physical environment to ensure that it’s flexible, scalable and operationally efficient. They must ensure that infrastructure components are delivered on time to meet project requirements. However, they often face confusing product specifications, complicated quoting processes and long product leads times.

  2. In addition, any number of unforeseen issues can impact the IT supply chain: an earthquake damages a manufacturing plant, a labor strike disrupts operations, a flood hampers shipping. In fact, risks lurk along the entire length of the IT supply chain — risks that must be managed in so far as possible to keep projects on track. Working with a single supplier for a full range of data center infrastructure products helps to reduce costs, complexity and risk. Customers don’t have to source individual components or work through the purchasing processes of multiple providers. A supplier that manufactures its own products has greater control over product availability. That’s why Rahi partners with Enconnex for data center infrastructure solutions. Enconnex manufactures racks and cabinets, connectivity solutions, power distribution units (PDUs), cooling systems, aisle containment and accessories to exacting specifications, yet its highly efficient processes mean highly competitive pricing and rapid product delivery. Enconnex offers a full line of modular components that can be mixed and matched to meet specific requirements. Modular solutions make for a more consistent environment that’s easy to manage and scale. Enconnex can also design and manufacture customized solutions, with fast turnaround times. Many Enconnex products are kept in stock in the company’s warehouse and logistics facilities around the world, making it possible to fulfill and deliver orders in as little as three business days. The Enconnex team has developed streamlined fulfillment processes, and can help global customers navigate customs requirements, taxes and other import requirements. IT complexity and the ever-increasing demand for new technology deployments puts intense pressure on the IT supply chain. If not properly managed, the IT supply chain can create bottlenecks that delay implementations and increase the burden on IT staff. Rahi Systems, through its partnership with Enconnex and other key vendors, helps to streamline IT procurements and ensure that the right products are delivered to the right place at the right time.
