  2. Cooking Wagyu beef is not your typical cut of meat. Although you could prepare it in the same way as normal beef, why would you want to? You've spent time and money creating the ideal steak, so get it properly. Don't worry; perfecting the art of cooking Wagyu beef doesn't require years of culinary training or hours of Food Network. In fact, you may enhance the flavour and texture of your Wagyu by taking a little extra time and care. Here are five expert recommendations to help you prepare Wagyu like a master.

  3. 1. SELECT THE PROPER CUT. Unbelievably, choosing the ideal Wagyu steak is only half the challenge. You can choose from more uncommon cuts like kebab, flank steak, teres major, English roast, patties, flat iron, or chuck steak or go with a classic cut like a fillet or ribeye. Don't be afraid; you can learn to prepare a specialty cut at home. 2.SAVE YOUR BEEF. Your Wagyu beef should arrive totally or partially frozen in vacuum-sealed packaging if you order it online. You must immediately freeze your steaks until you're ready to eat them if you don't want to end up with a piece of freezer-burned Wagyu. 3.THAW YOUR BEEF Why is it vital to serve your Wagyu at room temperature? You want your steak to reach its final eating temperature as soon as possible so that it will cook evenly from the centre to the edge. The temperature of the meat will increase by 20° to 25°F while your steaks are sitting out of the fridge before cooking, bringing it closer to the ultimate serving temperature and ensuring an even, flawless cook.

  4. 4.DON'T USE A LOT OF SEASONING.. Although you should only season the highest-quality Wagyu beef with a little salt and pepper, you are welcome to add your preferred steak seasoning. Just be careful not to overpower the natural flavour that Wagyu offers when consumed without the addition of sauces, marinades, or seasonings. 5.COOK YOUR WAGYU PROPERLY RATHER THAN WELL-DONE. Over high heat, preheat your cast-iron skillet. Use some of the fat that was removed from the sides of the Wagyu steak, butter, or olive oil to lightly coat the pan. Sear for three minutes on either side for an unusual finish. Aim for four minutes per side for a medium-rare sear. Use the magic of the touch test to determine when your Wagyu is fully cooked. Or, if you're stuck in the past, use a meat thermometer to determine the internal temperature. Regardless of which route you take, you want medium- rare, or 130°F. Before serving, remove the steaks and let them to rest for at least five but up to ten minutes.
