  2. NDA(National Defence Academy) • Eligibility in NDA (National Defence Academy) – Age Limit, Education Qualification, Marital Status, and Physical Standard.

  3. Eligibility Criteria Nationality To apply for NDA, candidates must be a citizen of India Bhutan Nepal A Tibetan refugee who is a permanent citizen of India and came before January 1, 1962. An Indian migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam.

  4. Age Limit The Age limit of candidates should be given as The candidates with a minimum age of sixteen years and maximum age of 19 years can apply for the NDA entrance exams. The date of birth will be accepted that is entered in the 10th and 12th class certificates. The candidates have to submit their certificates after the result of their entrance exam.

  5. Education Qualification Candidates appearing in the 12th or equivalent examination can apply. Candidates appearing in the 11th standard are not eligible. For the Army wing, candidates must be passed 12th or equivalent examination from a recognized university. For Navy and Air Force wings, candidates must be passed 12th with Physics and Mathematics from a recognized university.

  6. Physical Standard Candidates must be physically fit to apply for the NDA entrance exam. For Army, the minimum height prescribed is 157 cm and for Air Force, the minimum height prescribed is 162.5 cm. Minimum height will be 5 cm less than the figure mentioned above for candidates belonging to hills of North-Eastern areas of India, Gorkhas, Gharwal, and Kumaon. And minimum height for candidates belonging to Lakshadweep is reduced to 2cm. For Air Force, the minimum leg length prescribed is 99 cm and the maximum is 102 cm. The maximum thigh length is 64 cm and minimum sitting height is 81.50 cm and the maximum sitting height is 96 cm.

  7. Visual Standards The candidate’s distance vision should be 6/6 in the better eye and 6/9 in the worst eye. Myopia more than 2.5 D. Air Force candidates must not wear spectacles. Hyper metropia not more than 3.5 D. Candidates must not suffer from any the following conditions Piles Tonsillitis Varicocele Under Sized Chest Phimosis Ear Wax Overweight / Underweight

  8. Guideline Regarding Tattoos Any permanent tattoo on any part of the body is not acceptable except for those candidates who belong to the tribes where it is necessary to have a tattoo. Candidates must have to pass the X-Ray exam otherwise they are disqualified.

  9. Other Medical Conditions No liver enlargement. No skin diseases. No abnormalities in urine. Bines and Joints should be in good condition. No USG Abdomen problem. Must have a well developed chest. Teeth should be natural and sound. Normal hearing. Normal blood pressure. Routine ECG for Air Force candidates.

  10. Marital Status Only unmarried male candidates can apply for the entrance exam. If he marries during his training period will be discharged and have to refund all the expenditure spend on him.
