  1. Quick guide to buying a good water heater

  2. Many modern appliances and gadgets have become indispensable for us. Although we make a lot of fuss about appliances like the refrigerator or the A.C., not much thought is spared for the water heater. The unassuming geyser sits in one corner of the bathroom and helps us get warm water for a relaxing bath and we don’t even notice it. However, all hell breaks loose once the geyser breaks down, especially if it’s the winter months. If you are in a similar situation and want to know what to look for when buying a good geyser, here’s a quick guide.

  3. Functionality This is apparently the most important aspect of the geyser. You must first and foremost ensure that the geyser offers instant heating. The presence of some kind of indicator which tells you that the water is hot and is ready for use would be an added plus.

  4. Aesthetics Along with being functional, the geyser you select must also be aesthetically appealing. It should be of the right size, colour, and make so it complements the interiors of your bathroom and does not look out of place.

  5. Storage and Capacity The capacity of the geyser is another important aspect that you must take into account. While a small heater would be suitable for a small family of two, for a big family, a geyser that is nothing less than 25-30 litres in capacity would be required.

  6. Tank or Tankless Heater While many families prefer heater with tanks, others prefer the tankless instant-heating ones. The geysers with tanks are usually quite big and are insulated so the water in them remains hot. These kinds also have a thermostat so the heater can automatically restart once the water cools down and maintain the desired temperature. The tankless ones instantly heat the water and supply hot water as per ones need.

  7. Energy Efficiency This is one of the most important factors that you must take into account when buying a water heater. Mostly the instant tankless heaters are more energy efficient as they only heat as much water as may be required. Nowadays as people are becoming conscious about their carbon footprint, many are also opting for solar heaters, which are certainly the most energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.
