While there is no right way to do it, you can choose from popular activities like Diamond Head State Monument, Road to Hana, or Haleakala National Park. Here are a few things you should avoid, too. Here are some tips for a memorable excursion. You can also visit a beautiful waterfall, such as Haleakala, during your trip or enjoy Oahu island tours. ◦ Diamond Head State Monument ◦ If you plan to spend your vacation in Hawaii, you'll likely be visiting Diamond Head State Monument. However, you'll want to make sure you get in early. Beginning this May, the monument will require advanced reservations for out-of- state visitors. The new system aims to minimize the impact of tourists on the memorial and locals. Currently, visitors don't have to make reservations to visit Diamond Head, but the new rules will make this a more pleasant experience for all.
