Although there are hundreds of other rituals taking place in the temple, devotees come, especially for Rahu Ketu pooja. The name is attained from the Spider(Sri), the Serpent(Kala), and the Elephant(Hasti). It is said that the astrological effects of Rahu and Ketu are removed from one’s life by accomplishing this pooja. The Srikalahasti Temple is just 45 km away from Tirupati, and transportation is not an issue to reach the temple as you’ll quickly find buses going in every ten minutes of interval.   3. The Rahu Ketu pooja in Kalahasti takes place daily from 6 am till 6 pm. Although it is believed that the period of Rahu Kalam is the auspicious time for the pooja and will be most successful during this period, among all the days, Rahu Kalam on Tuesdays and Sundays are the most chosen. So there is a massive demand during that period. However, Monday is considered as an auspicious day, so there is so much crowd on this particular day. While performing the ritual, people are asked to wear proper traditional clothes and also to take a bath before performing the Rahu Ketu pooja. The location for the Rahu Ketu pooja depends upon the price of the ticket, as various price ranges are starting from Rs 300 to Rs 5000. The booking can be made online as well as offline. The ticket includes the material required, so the pilgrim doesn’t have to carry their equipment. Devotees come from different regions of the country to perform this special pooja, and the pooja takes place in batches at various mandapams. The temple priests are all around to guide you about the steps for the pooja.
