  1. Important Tools to Invest in when Setting up a Fashion Photography Studio People are visually stimulated--this is one of the facts that fashion photographers know and take advantage of. A good fashion photographer needs to have a good eye for details because inasmuch as pictures need to be beautiful, they shouldn’t be one- dimensional. Hence, when setting up a fashion photography studio, a photographer needs to invest in all the right tools so to breathe life into still pictures. So, just what equipment and tools are necessary if you want to start a fashion photography studio? Here’s a list of the basics: 1.DSLR– Invest in a digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera, preferably from Canon or Nikon. These brands can take crisp, clear photos and capture the intricate details of clothes. What’s more, picture quality stays the same even if the images are blown up. Both brands also allow for continuous shooting (anywhere from 5 to 7 frames per second) and have dual card slots for CF and SD cards. 2.Lenses – When setting up a fashion photography studio, a photographer must have a variety of lenses to choose from, from 30mm (wide angle shots) to 300mm (for zooming). 3.Lighting–It’s also a good idea to invest in an assortment of lights for the studio. Among the necessary types are floodlights, incandescent, and tungsten-halogen lamps that are vital so the subjects can be lighted properly. 4.Computer– This is necessary for post-production. A computer is used for colour correction, special effects, creative manipulation, and cropping. Of course, all digital files are stored on a computer, too. It’s also best to invest in peripherals like a scanner and printer so that you can print your own images. 5.Other peripherals–Camera bags are a must in order to keep the cameras safe and protected. It’s also great to have various backdrops that can be used for the shoots. Umbrella reflectors are crucial for bouncing light onto the subject. A lightbox is necessary to diffuse light, as well as a fill light for removing shadows. These are just some of the basic tools you need if you’re looking to set up a fashion photography studio. It’s also a good idea to invest in continuing training and photography education to keep your skills updated and relevant.
