Some are bags to carried over your shoulder, others are wheelie bags, some are soft and others have some form of strong padding. It depends on design and the manufacturer – and of course the brand, since brands that stand out do so because their products are known for certain features such as being well made, for example. Pads for protection, gloves for the hands of wicket keepers and the correct shoes are all examples of the equipment that cricket players use all the time. But, it extends further than turning up for a match dressed appropriately. Helmets and balls are part and parcel of one’s equipment, so are different forms of protection for the players’ legs and groin. Also, many players have fun at home with their mates and therefore they may create their own home set-up for which they need nets and an enclosure to make sure they do not hit balls over the neighbours’ walls and fences!
